Scot Land has more than 21 years experience in the financial and Information Technology industries with 15 years of direct technology management experience.

As a managing partner at Encompass Ventures, Land utilizes his knowledge of technology to develop investment strategy, analyze investments and support portfolio companies in their business development. Mr. Land also works closely with Encompass Ventures' portfolio companies interested in expanding to Asian and European markets.

Professional Background:
  • Prior to founding Encompass Ventures, Land was senior technology analyst at Microsoft. There, he served as a technical liaison between Microsoft and the worldwide investing community of analysts, portfolio managers and institutional shareholders, including many of the world's largest equity underwriters on Wall Street.
  • Land was founder, president and chief executive officer of Invision Technologies, a publicly traded company that develops, manufactures, markets and supports explosives detection systems based on advanced Computed Tomography (CT) technology for civil aviation security.
  • From 1984 to 1988, Land was principal at Ernst & Young and handled West Coast services for the company's International Trade Consulting Practice. In addition, Land provided financial analysis services to the University of Washington, the state of Washington, and British Columbia.

  • BSQUARE, Etera, emWare, Keystroke, LizardTech, Infowave Wireless, QBeo, Radiant Communications, and Copan GmbH. He works closely with management regarding business strategy and international business expansion.
Education:
  • Land received his Bachelor of Science degree in Philosophy with Honors from the College of the Ozarks in 1976.
  • Has held various adjunct university teaching positions in computer and information sciences
